Hadith: “My companions are like the stars; whichever of them you follow, you will be rightly guided.”
اَصْحَاب۪ى كَالنُّجُومِ فَبِاَيِّهِمْ اِقْتَدَيْتُمْ اِهْتَدَيْتُمْ
Explanation: Every Muslim who had the honor of seeing the Prophet [sallallahu alayhi wa sallam] is considered among the noble Companions. They are the most distinguished and virtuous members of the ummah. Each one serves as a model of safety and guidance. Their contributions to the spread of Islam are immense and enduring.
For this reason, loving and respecting the Companions, refraining from any negative remarks about them, is a duty upon us. To act or speak in any way contrary to affection and reverence toward any of them is a grave sin, wholly incompatible with the spirit and discipline of Islam.
It is true that certain disagreements and conflicts arose among them due to differing legal interpretations (ijtihad). This is a human reality. Yet, we are not permitted to take sides or engage in disrespectful speech about any of them. Such enmity contradicts the noble instructions of the Prophet [sallallahu alayhi wa sallam] and imposes a spiritual burden upon us.
Indeed, hostility toward the Companions has often been sown by foreign forces aiming to sow discord among Muslims. Thus, all Muslims must awaken to the value of brotherhood and strive for unity in both belief and knowledge. The survival and honor of the Muslim community can only be preserved through such solidarity. Success is from Allah alone.
